About Amy Pfeffer Orchard Buffalo

Amy Pfeffer of Orchard Park is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a military and police background. In 2017, she started working for Horizon Health Services in New York as a Mental Health Specialist and Substance Abuse Counselor. She then went on to work as a community-based counselor for Venture Forthe Inc.

Mrs. Pfeffer joined Gateway Longview as a Mental Health Counselor in October of 2019 and is now employed at Harris Hill Counseling (formerly known as Thriveworks). She works with teenagers, children, and families who have experienced various forms of trauma in order to reclaim control of their lives and improve the quality of life for themselves and their family members. Amy Pfeffer is also a Certified Autism Provider and a Certified Technology Addiction Provider, and she works with patients suffering from these conditions.
 

Mrs. Pfeffer studied Criminal Justice for a number of years before joining the New York State Army National Guard following the September 11th terrorist attacks. After training, she spent a year in Iraq, where she received the Combat Action Badge and several other awards.

She returned to school after her time in Iraq, earning an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Hilbert College. She then became a police officer with the Rochester Police Department, where she received the Life Saving Award and the Key to the City. She was also granted a number of other accommodations for various actions she took during her tenure. Amy also continued her education while working as a cop, earning a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration.

Amy also graduated from Daemen College with a Master of Science in Social Work. She accomplished this while working as a private investigator in New York, Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. She started her first therapy job with Horizon Health Care after graduating from graduate school with a perfect GPA.
